NEW Baby Massage and Baby Yoga Launching soon!
Providing six week long courses of baby massage and baby yoga designed to help you bond with your baby and become confident using techniques as part of your daily routine. My sessions are run on a weekly basis to allow you the time to practice techniques at home.
Sessions are friendly and informal, enabling you to relax and enjoy a sociable environment where lasting friendships can be made. It is a valuable opportunity to talk about any challenges you are facing as a mum, and to share thoughts and experiences.
Baby Massage can be an excellent way to bond with your baby and become more aware of your baby's needs.
Babies enjoy being held, cuddled and stroked. It makes them feel safe and secure, and is essential to their emotional development.
Studies show that there are numerous benefits to baby's physical health including:
There are also benefits for Mummy (or whoever is giving the massage):
Baby Yoga is a natural progression from baby massage. Their developing bodies are flexible and they respond well to the gentle stretching and movements used during yoga.
As with Baby Massage, Baby Yoga has many benefits for mummy and baby:
For mummy:
The Baby Massage and Baby Yoga classes follow a similar format. My classes are held in a safe, secure environment.
Numbers are limited to ensure all attendees feel comfortable.
Tea, coffee and soft drinks are available throughout the session (please use caution if you have a hot drink and do not bring them to the mat area) .
Mats are provided, however you are welcome to bring your own additional mat or blanket if you wish.
The subtle smell of a familiar object like their blanket can help your baby feel comfortable in new surroundings.
I would suggest you wear light, loose clothes that you can comfortably move around in without getting warm.
Your baby needs to feel free to move, so please have them dressed in a nappy and vest. This will also prevent them from overheating.
After an initial "hello" and welcome, we will spend 45 minutes doing a massage or yoga routine together. The moves are repeated to ensure that you master them and feel confident to use them at home with your baby.
Once we have finished the more formal part of the class, you have the opportunity to talk to me if you have any questions or to stay and chat to other parents with a drink.
