Baby Massage and Baby Yoga

Baby Massage video masterclass

Coming soon...    Baby Massage and Baby Yoga Video Masterclasses!!

My vision is to create a series of easy to follow baby massage and baby yoga videos.  These are designed to help you bond with your baby and become confident using techniques as part of your daily routine.

You will be able to download the videos at home to do by yourself or with your partner at a time that is best for you and your baby. This removes the worry that baby might be asleep, hungry or irritable which can happen if you are going out to a baby massage class.

Class session to show how to gently massaging a baby's back

Going to a baby class can be daunting, especially if you are concerned about the time working with baby’s sleep or feeding time. I remember as a new mummy, I worried about my baby crying or not settling in a new environment. Doing baby massage in your home is a great option as you can have more control over a time that suits you and there is less stress surrounding getting to a class. It also allows for more flexibility, for example, you may choose to spread 4 classes out over 8 weeks as opposed to a rigid 4 week course held in a community centre.

I have a programme which enables you to learn and develop your baby massage skills. However, if your baby is experiencing particular difficulties for example colic, constipation, teething issues or nasal congestion, I can modify the class to meet your specific needs.

The actual baby massage will take approximately 30 minutes, but I allow 45 minutes at your house to make sure baby is settled and not rushed.

1 to 1 massage: I will work with you to teach you the baby massage strokes, fitting in to your schedule that works for your baby.

Small group: Invite some friends around for a class together, learn how to massage your babies together. You can change who hosts the Baby Massage each week if you prefer.

Mummy and Baby treat! Why not book a baby massage plus a mummy massage afterwards? We do the baby massage first, then you have a 60 minute full body massage or a 30 minute Indian Head Massage afterwards while baby is relaxing!

Baby Yoga

Mummy doing a yoga stretch over her little baby

Baby Yoga is a natural progression from baby massage. Their developing bodies are flexible and they respond well to the gentle stretching and movements used during yoga.

As with Baby Massage, Baby Yoga has many benefits for mummy and baby:

  • Aids coordination and motor skills
  • Helps develop muscle strength and tone
  • Maintains flexibility in the spine and joints
  • Improves blood flow and circulation
  • Stimulates brain and nervous system
  • Promotes longer and deeper sleep
  • Regulates breathing

For mummy:

  • Builds confidence in handling your baby
  • Teaches breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Helps you to understand your baby's non-verbal cues

Using touch to connect with your baby including through their hands is important in baby massage

Touch is your baby’s most important sense while developing, so learning baby massage gives you a special way to bond
