Baby Massage and Baby Yoga

Rubbing and circling a little baby's foot during a baby massage class

My Vision

Providing six week long courses of baby massage and baby yoga designed to help you bond with your baby and become confident using techniques as part of your daily routine. My sessions are run on a weekly basis to allow you the time to practice techniques at home.

Sessions are friendly and informal, enabling you to relax and enjoy a sociable environment where lasting friendships can be made. It is a valuable opportunity to talk about any challenges you are facing as a mum, and to share thoughts and experiences.

Baby Massage can be an excellent way to bond with your baby and become more aware of your baby's needs.

Babies enjoy being held, cuddled and stroked. It makes them feel safe and secure, and is essential to their emotional development.

Studies show that there are numerous benefits to baby's physical health including:

  • Relaxed muscles, encouraging flexibility in arms and legs
  • Lower stress hormones meaning your baby is calmer and has a more restful sleep
  • Digest food better and suffer less constipation
  • Reduce symptoms of colic

There are also benefits for Mummy (or whoever is giving the massage):

  • Understand your baby's cue about what they need
  • Build trust between you to deepen your bond
  • Feel calm and relaxed together in a focused time away from other stresses

Baby Yoga

Baby Yoga is a natural progression from baby massage. Their developing bodies are flexible and they respond well to the gentle stretching and movements used during yoga.

As with Baby Massage, Baby Yoga has many benefits for mummy and baby:

  • Aids coordination and motor skills
  • Helps develop muscle strength and tone
  • Maintains flexibility in the spine and joints
  • Improves blood flow and circulation
  • Stimulates brain and nervous system
  • Promotes longer and deeper sleep
  • Regulates breathing

For mummy:

  • Builds confidence in handling your baby
  • Teaches breathing and relaxation techniques
  • Helps you to understand your baby's non-verbal cues

I am now running weekly Baby Yoga Classes from The Hub, Buckler's Park, Crowthorne!

Mats are provided, however you are welcome to bring your own additional mat or blanket if you wish.

The subtle smell of a familiar object like their blanket can help your baby feel comfortable in new surroundings.

What To Wear?

What Actually Happens?

What Actually Happens?

I would suggest you wear light, loose clothes that you can comfortably move around in without getting warm.

Your baby needs to feel free to move, so please have them dressed in a nappy and vest. This will also prevent them from overheating.

After an initial "hello" and welcome, we will spend 45 minutes doing a massage or yoga routine together. The moves are repeated to ensure that you master them and feel confident to use them at home with your baby.

Once we have finished the more formal part of the class, you have the opportunity to talk to me if you have any questions or to stay and chat to other parents with a drink.

Using touch to connect with your baby including through their hands is important in baby massage

Touch is your baby’s most important sense while developing, so learning baby massage gives you a special way to bond
