A holistic massage treats the whole person; mind and body.
Our bodies become out of sync and strained due to pressures of life. This could be giving birth and caring for young children (for example breastfeeding, carrying babies and lifting toddlers puts a lot of strain on our bodies and can cause shoulder, back and pelvic issues) or working at a desk all day (causes rounded shoulders, back pain and tight hip flexor muscles). Discomfort and pain can affect our day to day lives and also disrupt sleep leaving us tired and more prone to feeling run down.
A holistic massage will reduce muscle tension, anxiety and stress, enabling you to focus better and improve sleep quality. No two massages are the same as they vary according to your needs. I may incorporate traditional Swedish techniques such as effleurage, petrissage and kneading, with deeper pressure techniques, passive joint mobilisation and stretch therapy. You may choose to include extras such as hot stones, myofascial cupping or a head massage.
